Weddings on 35mm Film

There’s something about film that just hits different. It’s warm, it’s textured, and it’s got that natural glow that makes every image feel like a piece of art. If you’re looking for something a little more unique than cookie-cutter wedding photos, film is where it’s at.

  • Authentic Look: Film doesn’t overdo it. Using Ilford and Kodak films the colours are soft, the tones are natural, and every shot feels organic—like you’re flipping through an old-school photo album, but much cooler.

  • Timeless Appeal: These photos are designed to age beautifully. No over-edited trends here—just clean, classic vibes that’ll still look amazing in 50 years.

  • Intentionality: With film, every frame counts. That means I’m fully present, looking for the good stuff: the moments you didn’t even realize were happening.

What to Expect

Whether you’re throwing a huge party, or hosting a backyard bash, I’ve got you covered. As with my digital wedding photography package my approach is relaxed and low-key—I’m there to capture the vibe, not turn your day into a photoshoot.

Here’s how it works:

  • Pre-Wedding Hangout: We’ll chat about your day, your vibe, and the moments that matter most to you. This isn’t about creating a shot list—it’s about making sure I know what you care about.

  • On the Day: I’ll be there, blending in and catching all the good stuff—from the big moments to the ones you didn’t even notice happening.

  • The Goods: After the wedding, I hand-develop the black and white film - colour film will be sent to an external lab - and carefully curate a gallery that tells the full story of your day. You’ll get all your images as prints on satin paper and high-quality digital scans so you can share, print, and relive the magic whenever you want.

FAQs

Q: What happens if something goes wrong with the film?
No worries—I always shoot with backup cameras and enough rolls of film to cover the unexpected. I’m experienced in working with film and have workflows in place to ensure your photos are safe.

Q: Will I get digital copies of the photos?
Yes! While I shoot on 35mm film, I also provide high-quality digital scans of all the best shots. You’ll have the best of both worlds—classic film photos and digital files to share online.

Q: How many photos will I get?
Because film is more intentional, I focus on quality over quantity. You can expect anywhere from 150 to 250 images for a full-day wedding, depending on the coverage you choose.

Q: What’s your turnaround time?
Film photography is a little more hands-on, so my turnaround time is about 6–8 weeks. It’s worth the wait, I promise!
