Brasenose College wedding in Oxford | Jack and Charlotte

Living in Oxfordshire offers the unique pleasure of photographing many weddings at the historic colleges of Oxford. Jack and Charlotte's wedding was held at the picturesque Brasenose College. Before the ceremony, I met with Charlotte and her bridesmaids at the charming Old Bank Hotel, just a short walk away.

As the final preparations were completed, we set up and captured the obligatory first-look moment with Charlotte's father, one of my favourite moments to photograph. After this touching reveal, we made our way across the road to Brasenose College.

Charlotte's family has a rich musical background, and her father is a member of a barbershop quartet. This added a special touch to the ceremony, punctuated with quality singing that resonated through the historic hall.

Following the ceremony, everyone gathered in the main quad of Brasenose College for drinks, formal group photos, and general mingling. While the guests were being seated for the reception, Jack, Charlotte, and I took a stroll around the beautiful college grounds to capture some intimate bride and groom portraits.

During the reception, heartfelt speeches were made by those closest to the couple, adding warmth and emotion to the wedding breakfast. As night began to fall, we took a moment to step out and capture some moody and atmospheric portraits around Radcliffe Square in Oxford. We returned just in time for Jack and Charlotte's first dance, rounding off a truly tremendous day.

Here are some of my favourite images from Jack and Charlotte's wedding day in Oxford, capturing the essence and joy of their special celebration.

Thank you, Dale.

My approach to photographing weddings is very much documentary, but I am not a ‘pure’ documentary photographer and more than happy to capture a few family group photographs, and I love capturing bride and groom portraits - in a more ‘mockumentary’ style.
If you are planning a wedding in central Oxford like the one above - or planning your wedding anywhere else for that matter - then I would love for you to get in touch to discuss your wedding day plans with me.
