A wedding in rural Oxfordshire | Hayley & Tom
Hayley and Toms wedding took place on a lovely summers day in 2021, and not too far from my own home in Oxfordshire. It was very much an intimate wedding with the closest of family and friends involved and the reception took place in a marquee at the family home. The only downside for me was that I wasn’t there for the whole day!
Wallingford Town hall wedding
I’ve only had a few weddings this year so far and its soon to get a bit crazy! Each one I have shot so far has been epic and Steven and Toms wedding in Wallingford, Oxfordshire continues this trend!
The weather forecast for the day was heavy rain all day long! This isn't a concern for me but it does mean that the photographs will look a bit different - and everyone wants a bit of sunshine on their wedding day don’t they! For Steven and Tom the sun did shine (not literally) and despite the forecast of heavy rain we did not receive a single drop! Which meant that we were able to walk the streets of Wallingford between the different locations.
Intimate Oxford wedding
Christin and Simons wedding was a short notice booking that also became postponed due to the ongoing covid restrictions. It was a lovely small intimate wedding involving Christin and Simon getting married in the Dexter Room, Oxford with Simon’s parents and Christin’s mum as the only guests. After the ceremony we took a few formal pics with the parents outside the Dexter room after which Christin, Simon and I took a short trip to Christ Church Meadows for a few intimate portraits.
Christ Church meadow Oxford
I have photographed weddings at the Dexter Room in Oxford on many occasions but none have been quite so significant and exciting as Avery and Mark’s. There was nothing wrong with all the other weddings I had photographed at the Dexter room, but the reason I was excited for Avery and Mark’s was because it was the first wedding back since the beginning of December 2020 after Covid restrictions had become eased, and to add to that the fact that very few weddings had gone ahead in 2020. It has been a super tough 12 months for many reasons and Avery and Mark’s wedding felt like the beginning of a new chapter - lets pray for this to be true!
Crown & Thistle wedding abingdon
The Crown and Thistle in Abingdon, Oxfordshire is one of my favourite venues to photograph weddings in Oxfordshire. The weddings that I get to photograph there are lovely and simple and all about the people and having a good time. They are quite simply just lovely chilled weddings. And being central in Abingdon you also have the choice of some lovely locations when it comes to the part of the day when I take a wander with the bride and groom to capture some (semi)staged portraits.
Maybush wedding oxfordshire
Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford and Maybush weddings are excellent venues for a wedding day. So if you are planning a wedding at either or both of them then I would love for you to get in touch to discuss your wedding photography requirements. My approach is more on capturing the natural moments of your day with a few formal groups and bride and groom portraits. Get in touch to arrange an informal video call to talk over your plans and find out what I can offer you as a wedding photographer. Thank you, Dale xx
